Strengthening industry connections at ICANN Contracted Parties Summit

The BSA team will join industry representatives in Hanoi, Vietnam for the ICANN Contracted Parties Summit from May 5-7.

GlobalBlock’s notable achievements in its first year of operation would not be possible without the strong network of domain name Registries, service providers and agents who have joined the movement and lent their support to GlobalBlock’s mission.

With more than 630+ included extensions to date and a wide range of accredited agents bringing GlobalBlock to market, nurturing and growing this network is crucial to ensuring our mutual, ongoing success.

With the anticipated launch date for the next round of new TLDs now just a year away, brands and consumers are eager to understand how solutions like GlobalBlock will support the protection of IP and brand assets as well as prevent imitation, fraud and abuse targeting internet users during this next expansion of online real estate.

This is a critical time for the industry to plan for a safe and considered rollout of new TLDs in terms of brand protection and online security.

Attending the meeting in Hanoi will be Tony Kirsch (Commercial Director) and Quoc Pham (Senior Technical Manager). Tony and Quoc look forward to this opportunity to meet with partners and prospective partners particularly from the Asia-Pacific region, who may be interested in learning more about how GlobalBlock supports Registry health and brings a new revenue stream to Registry operators and services providers.

If you’d like to connect with the BSA team in Hanoi, please contact your BSA representative or email us at hello@brandsafetyalliance.co.

A lot has changed across the registry landscape since my last trip to the Asia Pacific Top Level Domain (APTLD) conference over two years ago in Danang, Vietnam. From the increasing role that AI plays in our businesses through to the ever-expanding abuse conundrum, the threat landscape has shifted in ways that should concern every registry operator, regardless of size and region. I'm excited to reconnect with the APTLD community at two upcoming events. First, I'll be joining APTLD members for a webinar on 26 August, followed by a session at APTLD90 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia this September, where I'll be sharing how the Brand Safety Alliance and GlobalBlock are helping registries and brands tackle online abuse through collaborative global protection programs.

As one of the largest and most strategically significant country code domains, .CN offers an important view into how registries are balancing growth, governance and brand safety at scale. We’re pleased to present this partner article from CNNIC, the registry behind China’s .CN country code top-level domain, about the growing sophistication of abuse, the increasing need for cross-border cooperation, and the rising expectation from global brands for proactive protective mechanisms within complex national markets.
