GlobalBlock has added a significant new batch of extensions to its blocking service, expanding its already industry-leading coverage and enhancing value for existing and future customers.
With this increase, GlobalBlock now covers over 710 extensions in total, representing 56% of all Top-Level Domains in existence. This continues GlobalBlock’s progress and the world’s largest domain blocking service, offering and an unprecedented level of protection for IP owners in a single, easy to manage service.
The latest batch includes more than 45 new web extensions across a range of gTLDs, ccTLDs and Web3.0 extensions.
Some of the new extensions to join the service include the popular .diy, .food, .living and .lifestyle gTLDs, along with a variety of heavily requested, China-focused extensions such as .wang, .商城 (.mall in Chinese), .网店 (.onlinestore in Chinese), .八卦 (.gossip in Chinese), .信息 (.information in Chinese) and .手机 (.cellphone in Chinese).
This batch also grows GlobalBlock’s geographical coverage with country codes from Bangladesh (.bd), Isle of Man (.im) and Tanzania (.tz). While some ccTLDs are open, many restrict registrations to residents or registered businesses within that country. This makes them difficult to access for defensive domain registrations and therefore a great candidate for domain blocking to protect brand assets in those regions.
As always, existing GlobalBlock customers receive this added coverage for no additional cost, increasing the value of their service with no effort required.
We extend our thanks to the Registries and service providers who have joined the Brand Safety Alliance movement and added their extensions to GlobalBlock, supporting a safer internet for brands and consumers alike.
