BSA Team Heads to ICANN82 Seattle

Fresh off the heels of GlobalBlock’s first anniversary, the Brand Safety Alliance (BSA) team is excited to announce our participation at the ICANN82 Community Forum on March 8, in Seattle, USA.

We’ll be joining industry colleagues and partners for a series of in-person discussions focused on domain security, brand protection, and the evolving digital landscape.

Celebrating One Year of GlobalBlock

Since its highly anticipated launch in March 2024, GlobalBlock has empowered brands to help protect themselves online from bad actors while delivering operational efficiencies. As we mark this milestone, we’re also thrilled to introduce the Domain Protection Report, a new publication debuting at ICANN82. This report provides a data-driven analysis of GlobalBlock’s impact, along with expert insights on brand protection trends and intellectual property challenges shaping the industry.

Representing the BSA at ICANN82 will be:

Ben Anderson (Product Director)

Tony Kirsch (Commercial Director)

Jason Loyer (Sales Director)

Leona Chen-Birkner (Senior Business Development Manager)

Our team looks forward to engaging with Registry and Registrar partners, as well as those interested in learning more about GlobalBlock and its benefits.

Tackling Domain Abuse Challenges

Industry forums like ICANN82 provide an invaluable platform to discuss the latest challenges and opportunities in domain management. With ICANN itself recently falling victim to a phishing attack, the urgency around domain abuse prevention is clearer than ever.

Conversations with our GlobalBlock Registry partners have reinforced the service’s role in helping to proactively prevent abuse, improve domain namespace integrity, and safeguard brands and consumers from online threats like imitation, fraud, and scams.

Similarly, brand protection agents and legal representatives are seeing the value of shifting from defensive domain registrations to strategic domain blocking— simplified approach that will be particularly relevant as we approach the next round of new TLD applications, a key topic at ICANN82.

Let’s Connect in Seattle

The BSA team is eager to connect, listen, and collaborate with industry partners at ICANN82. We’ll be closely following discussions and developments to ensure GlobalBlock remains at the forefront of brand protection and domain management as the industry evolves.

If you’re attending ICANN82, we’d love to meet!

Contact us at hello@brandsafetyalliance.co to arrange a time to connect.
