Brand Safety Alliance returns for APTLD 87 to continue engagement with Asia Pacific ccTLD

The Brand Safety Alliance team is once again pleased to be attending APTLD’s next members meeting, to be held in Hong Kong this February.

These events are a unique and valuable opportunity to connect with ccTLD Registries and share in the latest knowledge, news and best practice.

The Brand Safety Alliance will travel to Hong Kong for the forum and look forward to meeting with existing GlobalBlock partners and other ccTLD Registries that may be interested to learn how domain blocking has provided significant financial and operational benefits for registries since launching in March last year.

Guam’s .gu is the latest ccTLD to join the GlobalBlock service, joining dozens of other geographic identifier namespaces that are recognizing the value of proactively preventing trademark abuse and boosting the integrity of their namespaces.

The Brand Safety Alliance is proud to be the Gold Sponsor for APTLD87 and will also present a fireside chat at 12pm on Tuesday 11 February. In this session, Tony Kirsch will interview leaders from the ccTLD community who have joined GlobalBlock, to discuss how it has benefited their Registries and the broader communities they serve.

If you’re attending the meeting and would like to meet with our team, please contact us today via email to hello@brandsafetyalliance.co

A lot has changed across the registry landscape since my last trip to the Asia Pacific Top Level Domain (APTLD) conference over two years ago in Danang, Vietnam. From the increasing role that AI plays in our businesses through to the ever-expanding abuse conundrum, the threat landscape has shifted in ways that should concern every registry operator, regardless of size and region. I'm excited to reconnect with the APTLD community at two upcoming events. First, I'll be joining APTLD members for a webinar on 26 August, followed by a session at APTLD90 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia this September, where I'll be sharing how the Brand Safety Alliance and GlobalBlock are helping registries and brands tackle online abuse through collaborative global protection programs.

The 2026 International Anti-Counterfeiting Coalition (IACC) Annual Conference in Orlando brought together enterprise brands, law enforcement agencies, marketplaces, payment providers, policy leaders, registries, and technology platforms. The Brand Safety Alliance (BSA) was thrilled to sponsor the event for the first time, supporting the IACC Networking Lounge. This opportunity allowed us to connect with many IP and brand protection experts and to continue our IP Insights program – an ongoing series of conversations and interviews with the people at the coal front of online brand protection. The theme running through every session of the conference and reflected in our conversations was: how does enforcement keep pace as digital abuse becomes faster, more global, and more infrastructure-driven? Here are some key themes we captured from those in the know.
