Brand Safety Alliance is heading to APTLD Vietnam

Representatives of ccTLD Registries across the Asia-Pacific region will travel to Vietnam this month for APTLD’s next Members Meeting.

Held in the beautiful city of Da Nang from 17-20 September, the meeting provides a forum to discuss policy matters affecting domain name organizations and promote knowledge sharing and collaboration.

The Brand Safety Alliance’s (BSA) Tony Kirsch and Leona Chen-Birkner will attend the meeting and look forward to connecting with the APAC domain name community.

ccTLDs play a significant role in protecting the interests of brand owners around the world, and this is reflective across the included extensions within GlobalBlock currently.

With ccTLDs such as Indonesia’s .id, Sri Lanka’s .lk, Myanmar’s .mm and Papua New Guinea’s .pg already included in the ever growing GlobalBlock service, these namespaces are already seeing the benefits of domain blocking for proactive abuse reduction and building trust and positive community sentiment.

The BSA team will meet with current GlobalBlock participants and welcome the chance to discuss GlobalBlock’s benefits with Registries who are yet to join.

On Tuesday 17 September at 3pm, Tony will also deliver a presentation on Domain Blocking: How it works and why it’s a unique opportunity for ccTLDs.

If you’re attending APTLD86 in Vietnam, please contact us today via hello@brandsafetyalliance.co to arrange a time to meet.

A lot has changed across the registry landscape since my last trip to the Asia Pacific Top Level Domain (APTLD) conference over two years ago in Danang, Vietnam. From the increasing role that AI plays in our businesses through to the ever-expanding abuse conundrum, the threat landscape has shifted in ways that should concern every registry operator, regardless of size and region. I'm excited to reconnect with the APTLD community at two upcoming events. First, I'll be joining APTLD members for a webinar on 26 August, followed by a session at APTLD90 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia this September, where I'll be sharing how the Brand Safety Alliance and GlobalBlock are helping registries and brands tackle online abuse through collaborative global protection programs.

The 2026 International Anti-Counterfeiting Coalition (IACC) Annual Conference in Orlando brought together enterprise brands, law enforcement agencies, marketplaces, payment providers, policy leaders, registries, and technology platforms. The Brand Safety Alliance (BSA) was thrilled to sponsor the event for the first time, supporting the IACC Networking Lounge. This opportunity allowed us to connect with many IP and brand protection experts and to continue our IP Insights program – an ongoing series of conversations and interviews with the people at the coal front of online brand protection. The theme running through every session of the conference and reflected in our conversations was: how does enforcement keep pace as digital abuse becomes faster, more global, and more infrastructure-driven? Here are some key themes we captured from those in the know.
